Open Gameday Thread Ducks @ Coyotes

Anaheim Ducks at Phoenix Coyotes, Oct 31, 2009 6:00 PM PDT

Start: 6PM             TV:  KDOC           Radio: AM830

Your Enemy:  Five For Howling

ARTHUR:

Happy Halloween, guys and ghouls.

The Ducks face a true test tonight, taking on a team that isn't injured and isn't coming off back to backs.  The Coyotes are playing very well, and despite sitting next to the Ducks at the bottom of the Pac, have two games in hand on a three point deficit to the division leading Sharks.

I'll be recording tonight's game while I'm out watching an ECHL game.

Possible discussion starter:  Check out Joffrey Lupul's "In The Loops" blog for his notes on Teemu's Halloween shenanigans, his lust for Josh Duhamel's wife and his misgivings about his own ridiculous blog title.

Doesn’t that just sound so nice … :)

Ever get the feeling we are on a collision course with reality? (boycott Hollywood!)

I’m excited to see the Coyotes. I know they’re playing well, but I don’t know why. I want to see it for myself.

Good stop for Hiller. This is his chance to show he can handle back to back responsibilities in the NHL.

Looking better after giving up an early power play goal. We need blue line help really bad.

by Daniel AC on Oct 31, 2009 6:29 PM PDT reply actions

Wisniewski just got jacked by Shane Doan. I hope he’s embarrassed.

Someone has to be. This game only reminds me of how the Coyotes should thank us everyday for Bryzgalov. Otherwise we’d be up by 2 or three and Perry would have another multipoint game.

by Daniel AC on Oct 31, 2009 7:45 PM PDT up reply actions

Ya… Man I miss Bryz.

not even a 7th rounder. Breaks my heart.

Blueline play has been better tonight. D is getting the puck along the boards to the wings…now if only the wingers would stop giving the puck away.

by Daniel AC on Oct 31, 2009 8:08 PM PDT reply actions

Ya, I’m glad to see that the Defense isn’t embarrassing itself.

by yankeeken on Oct 31, 2009 8:12 PM PDT up reply actions

I"m surprised at how the good the Coyotes have been in their zone. Tippett has these guys thinking D first, and it’s starting to work. Forwards collapse well, D moves the puck and clears the net, they play hard. Makes for exciting hockey.

This is why I hate Wisniewski.

by Daniel AC on Oct 31, 2009 8:16 PM PDT reply actions

What the deuce? I go to get food and they trade goals. Who scored for the Ducks?

by yankeeken on Oct 31, 2009 8:24 PM PDT reply actions

Selanne. Then Wiz touched up on what he thought was icing, but wasn’t. Turned it over and then all hell broke loose.

by Daniel AC on Oct 31, 2009 8:25 PM PDT reply actions

This game sure is physical.

by yankeeken on Oct 31, 2009 8:28 PM PDT reply actions

It’s been a great game. Definitely rough, but Hayzie mentioned how we seem to play a little better in these types of games.

by Daniel AC on Oct 31, 2009 8:29 PM PDT up reply actions

Ya. Unfortunately I missed the 1st and 2nd periods.

by yankeeken on Oct 31, 2009 8:34 PM PDT up reply actions

you and everybody else apparently. I’ve enjoyed it. Didn’t realize the Coyotes had gotten this good. There might make a lot of preseason predictors look really stupid

by Daniel AC on Oct 31, 2009 8:39 PM PDT up reply actions

Most people predicted Phoenix to be on the bottom of the Pacific.

by yankeeken on Oct 31, 2009 8:41 PM PDT up reply actions

Instead we’re on the bottom.

by yankeeken on Oct 31, 2009 8:42 PM PDT up reply actions

Crap. We’re screwed. The Ducks always loose in shootouts.

by yankeeken on Oct 31, 2009 8:43 PM PDT reply actions

Not this year. I think we’ve won the only one we’ve been in.

by Daniel AC on Oct 31, 2009 8:47 PM PDT up reply actions

Ya,but we have a bad history with them.

by yankeeken on Oct 31, 2009 8:48 PM PDT up reply actions

I hate Ducks shootouts.

by yankeeken on Oct 31, 2009 8:49 PM PDT reply actions

Seems like we just can’t get any momentum going this year. Another wasted effort.

by Daniel AC on Oct 31, 2009 8:50 PM PDT up reply actions

Sounds about right. No momentum at all.

Lol, just kidding. This post was a complete lie.
