***Ducks Assign Sexton To Manitoba***
THE TELETYPE:
Anaheim has reassigned prospect Dan Sexton from the team's ECHL affiliate in Bakersfield to the AHL's Manitoba Moose. Sexton was assigned to Bakersfield after he was denied playing time with the San Antonio Rampage. The 5'10" winger went on to lead the Condors in scoring this season with 13G and 13A. Ducks center Erik Christensen is currently on loan to the Moose, and prospects Brian Salcido and Matt McCue have been playing with the team since the beginning of the season.
This news comes just a week after Anaheim pulled its prospects from the San Antonio roster, reassigning them to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL and Bakersfield of the ECHL as it seems the team has finally found some stability in its minor league situation.

I don’t really understand this move. Are the Ducks trying to get Dan Sexton into a more difficult league to help his development? That’s the only way I see this working out. Unless they think he’s a treadeable asset and needs to be in a more monitored league.

Sexton was never meant to be in the ECHL. McNab pulled him from the San Antonio roster after the Rampage refused to play him for the first few games. That much is contained in my breakdown of our AHL level prospects in the ECHL from Halloween. And recent comments by Sharp have implied that McNab was actively looking for an AHL affiliate to take and play the guys he’d stuck in the ECHL.
This move is a sign that the Ducks have found some AHL teams willing to give their prospects some playing time, even if they had to go through Burke and old friends in Vancouver to make it happen.
