Open Gameday Thread Hurricanes @ Ducks
Carolina Hurricanes at Anaheim Ducks, Nov 25, 2009 7:00 PM PST
ARTHUR:
CLASH OF THE LILLIPUTIANS!!!
Both teams come into tonight's game in a hotly contested battle for last place in their respective conferences. Carolina would seem to have the upper hand, as they are winless on the road this season, but we all know the Pond is THE place to go to exorcise the Winless Demon. The Ducks dropped their last game against the defeated of the Eastern Conference by a score of 6-3, earning them the title of Worst Team In The NHL. The Canes will try to wrest that trophy from Anaheim's grasp tonight.
After making runs at the Cup as backseat playoff seeds, both teams have fallen off the map, but the Ducks, who are currently choosing between two healthy playoff goaltenders, will have no excuses for a loss tonight, regardless of how well they're playing.
After the jump, Carroll interviews the new second line, a combination made at Teemu's request.
Time to think of a name for the new trio. See if you can factor in Teemu's Mr. Incredible nickname.

Lupul says he won’t be ice ready until this weekend. I struggle to define that as a problem/loss, but it’s always nice to have more scorers on the ice.
Also, in no part due to my demands that he do something, Pete Peeters did provide some much needed coaching to Jiggy and Hiller during his scheduled counseling visit with the duo. I’m not sure what he told Hiller, but Jiggy credits the Ducks’ new crease consultant with encouraging him to be more aggressive and using his blocker, both key tactics in Giguere’s shootout success on Monday.
