Open Gameday Recap Thread Blackhawks @ Ducks

DANIEL:

The Ducks played their best game of the season, conquering the rampaging Blackhawks in a 3-0 decision at the Ponda Center.  The Ducks destroyed the second ranked penalty killing unit in the league by converting 3 of 5 power play chances.  They also killed off four of their own shorthanded situations.  Teemu Selanne potted two power play goals, and Corey Perry extended his point scoring streak to 17 games, tying the team record.  Most importantly, the Ducks have put together a string of quality performances, and have now won three in a row and four of their last five. Part of this recent success can be blamed on the stellar play of Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who is trying to turn Jonas Hiller into trade bait.  Giguere stopped 28 shots tonight and has stopped 97 of the last 101 shots he's faced. It's too early to say the Ducks have made any kind of turn around, but a couple victories might be exactly what they need to build their confidence and fight their way back into the playoff fight.

This is why I insist on attribution. So I don’t feel the need to edit.

Great to see the Ducks turning it around

this is the kind of hockey I was expecting from this club and hope to see it all season long. And they got a huge victory over a good team.
