The Ducks could not overcome a slow start at HP Pavilion tonight.  Anaheim's lone goal came on a power play to open the 3rd, and though the team continued to push in the last stanza, their momentum was derailed on an extended 4-on-3, 5-on-3 then 5-on-4 sequence.

Giguere made a number of tough stops, including an early penalty shot, but was beaten twice by a power play goal and a neutral zone turnover in a three minute sequence that put the game out of reach.  The Sharks snapped a 5-game slide, while the Ducks snapped a pair of back-to-back wins they had hoped to turn into a streak.
