What would you give up for Kovalchuk?

There was supposed to be a network-wide look at this, but I wasn't really in the random post/poll mood.  Also, this is pretty hard to cover through a poll, as the deal is not a 1 for 1 situation.  Our long term guys would be Lupul, Whitney and Perry.  Our pending RFA's are Ryan, Chipchura and Wisniewski.  We have two First Rounders and cap space to re-sign him if we move Giguere.

So, what would YOU give up for Kovalchuk?

Nothing. He’s going to L.A. anyway.

You said the same thing in the gameday thread, and it’s a buzzkill answer to what’s supposed to be a network-wide hypothetical exercise. In the future, if you want to mess up obligatory network exercises, please stick to missing recaps.

As you wish oh flawless one.

I hate to say it, but I’ve got to agree with Daniel. The only forward, on our NHL roster, that I would be willing to give up for Kovalchuk would be Loops and even then I’m not quite sure. I’d much rather bring in a defenseman than another forward. We already don’t have enough room in our top 6 as it is.

So we're currently down for no offer

I think Bird Watchers’ Anonymous is doing their rundown of offers on Friday. I’ll submit an offer— a free ticket to Disneyland and a conditional free ticket to California Adventure if he signs with us —if nobody puts out an idea by Thursday

Maybe Disneyland should be the conditional ticket. Hmm. I don’t know. California Screamin’ is the f—-ing TRUTH.

That deal sounds pretty fair. If need be we could always switch out one of the Disney tickets for a Knotts ticket.

How about:

Joffrey Lupul, James Wisniewski, the right’s to MacGreggor Sharp and a $5 gift certificate to Hot Topic?

I was saying boo-urns.

I think if you switch Lupul for Ryan you have a better idea of what the deal might look like. Also might want to toss in a first or second round pick.

Ya, but I’d rather keep Ryan than acquire Kovalchuk.
