***Murray Calling For Moreau***

THE TELETYPE:
Oilers Nation reports today that the Anaheim front office has inquired into the availability of Ethan Moreau.  The Edmonton winger is signed into the end of next year at a 2M/yr. cap hit and 1.75M/yr. salary.  OIlers Nation reports his remaining cap hit for the season as 860K.  Moreau has 4G, 4A and is -4 on a struggling Edmonton team.

As the GM of the Chicago Blackhawks in 1999, Bob Murray traded Ethan Moreau, Daniel Cleary, Chad Kilger and Christian Laflamme to Edmonton for Boris Mironov, Dean McAmmond and Jonas Elofsson.  Moreau has stayed with the Oilers since that trade.

The Ducks have been linked to a number of front office phone calls this season, but the rumored trades have never materialized.

These are the shenanigans we can expect from Murray. He scouts guys that played for him in Chicago 10 years ago— and that he traded away, no less! —as if he he never worked as a scout for us or for Vancouver. Who did he scout in those six years? Who did he insist the Ducks and Canucks sign? Daze for three years and then Beauchemin for the next three?

At what point do you admit that you have your job because you were a Blackhawks lifer, and you are completely incompetent, both as a GM and a scout? It’s as if the guy who swept the floors at Boeing for 20 years is building jets now.

Take him. Please.

Tambellini should offer Moreau and a 4th for a 5th just to make sure it gets done.

Why not Sheldon Souray again?

the kings are more involved in the Sheldon Souray talks than we are. We just happen to also be in california, so we might be able to swoop in if the kings don’t want to take on a salary that will actually continue into the future.

Oh my… I’m having flashbacks to when Burke acquired May, Bertuzzi and Morrison.

If we acquire this guy, then I’m going to have to start going to Duck games with a “Fire Murray” sign.
