Crunch Sign Gabe Gauthier to Tryout
The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed minor league veteran and Torrance, California native Gabe Gauthier to a professional tryout contract.
The 5'9" forward spent much of his career in the Kings organization after being signed as a free agent following back to back NCAA championships in his four years at Denver. Gauthier began what has become a tradition with the Pioneers under head coach George Gwozdecky, which is to have the California player take the same locker room stall and the same number (9) with the team. Gauthier was succeeded by Orange native Rhett Rakhshani who was succeeded this year by Gardena native Beau Bennett.
Lindsay Kramer spoke to Gauthier, who is determined to be a difference maker with the Crunch and was stocking shelves at Costco for $11 an hour when he got the call to play for the ECHL this year.
