During practice today Jonas Hiller took a shot to the facemask and did not return to practice. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago for further evaluation and received four sutures. The article can be found at http://ducks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=543448
Well just when we think we have the start of something good, this comes along. From what it sounds like, Jonas received a facial laceration around his eyebrow. Typical healing time for that type of injury is a week. It depends on how deep the cut is and the healing time of the individual but Jonas could be out 3-5 games at the worst. The Ducks have 3 games in the next 4 days all on the road. Then again the cut could not be that deep and he might miss just a game or two. I would be shocked if Jonas played against Chicago on Sunday. Good thing McGlovin has been getting some good game time because it looks like he could get some more this week. Could we see a Timo call up for a week or two? The cut doesn't sound that bad but you never know. Duck's brass may want to rest Jonas or make him play through it. What do you think?
