***Fowler Stays, Chipchura Concussed***

Carlyle and Fowler discuss his now confirmed stay in the NHL as well as his new accommodations for the season in the Niedermayer house.

THE TELETYPE:
The Ducks announced via Twitter that Cam Fowler will remain with the team past the 9 game mark this season.  The move will activate the first year of the 18 year-old's entry level contract and likely toll one year of his minimum requirement to reach UFA status if he stays past midseason.  The Ducks' 2010 12th overall pick has been sidelined since an October 17th hit from Shane Doan and currently has six NHL games played on the season.  He was cleared to play this week according to the OC Register and is expected on the ice Wednesday.

Anaheim also announced via Twitter that center Kyle Chipchura has suffered a concussion and will be placed on injured reserve for the next two games.  The Ducks forward took a hard hit from Douglas Murray against the Sharks on Saturday and sat out Anaheim's last practice with a stiff neck before this diagnosis.  The team called up rookie Nick Bonino over the weekend, likely filling Chipchura's roster spot.

Editor's Note:  Just because I think this is amusing, the Ducks Twitter noted that Fowler and Niedermayer are doing the Crosby/Lemieux thing.  The kid is living in casa de Nieds.

When are you going to rep your work over at the chairman? Where’s the fanpost?

Wow, i’m surprised and glad. I’m not surprised that they’ll keep him up, but surprised that they announced the decision so early. I thought they would wait until after these next 3 games. I wonder which players they will waive or cut to make room when Sutton comes back.

by fastat3m on Nov 2, 2010 2:15 PM PDT reply actions

only Syvret has to be cut. No one would have to be waived to accommodate Sutton.

by Arthur from Anaheim Calling on Nov 2, 2010 2:21 PM PDT up reply actions

haha, thats true, Fowler has been gone so long, for some reason I felt that we had someone else, but I guess I forgot Mikk was waived to bring up Syvret.

by fastat3m on Nov 2, 2010 2:24 PM PDT up reply actions

I’m very happy with this decision because now I actually have something to look forward to this season. Camshaft is awesome and he should win the Calder. Also, Syvret is way better than Mara and Lilja, so please get rid of them before him. Thanks.

by Motherboy on Nov 2, 2010 2:35 PM PDT reply actions

I’m sure since nobody wanted them you could waive any of the Ducks’ 5-7 down into the AHL, though I don’t know how the Samueli’s would feel about paying guys 700K+ to play in the AHL rather than having Syvret down there for an AHL salary. Also, Murray and Carlyle signed Lilja after deciding Syvret wasn’t going to cut it, not sure how open they are to keeping Danny when he looked sooooo atrocious in the preseason and that play started to rear its ugly head in the Sharks game.

Good news for Cam. Bad news for the Chipper (though not at all surprising. He got rocked.)

He is moving into Scotty’s house as well. I think it is safe to say the Ducks want Cam to pick some things up from Scotty. Awesome that Scotty would let him come into his home. Welcome to the neighborhood Cam. If I see a car with a Michigan or Ontario plate I will give a wave.

Sorry I can’t read.

haha, s’okay. Nobody reads what we write here. I’m just waiting for it to get to the point where I can write the posts in Japanese or Tagalog.

I thought Daniel was the only one that didn’t red what was posted here.

We need more Boyntons.

Naaaah. He’s just the one for whom it would be most embarrassing since he runs the risk of preparing an identical post. This has evolved into a nerdboard where the guy who types “FIRST!” is just really really talkative.

I do read what you write its just sometimes I tend to skip a few things. You know things like editors notes or anything in italics.

I was thinking the same thing. He’ll take #4, or at least, that’s my guess.

by Mudhippy on Nov 2, 2010 8:24 PM PDT via mobile up reply actions

Oh god I hope he’s not the next Boynton.

by pearljamfan80 on Nov 2, 2010 9:06 PM PDT up reply actions

Don't worry, he's not.

He SHOULD have #4. Boynton should not have.
