The Ducks emerged victorious at HP Pavilion with a 3-2 overtime victory despite giving up the lead and a 22-6 shot advantage to the Sharks in the 3rd. Anaheim wasn't sharp and looked tired in the game's second half, but San Jose did not look much sharper until the game was in its final frames.
Jason Blake and Corey Perry scored the Ducks' first two goals with heads up plays in font of the net, where the Sharks did not seem eager to clear the opposition out of the crease. Visnovsky scored the final tally in overtime off a strong faceoff win from Saku Koivu, who had struggled against Marleau and Pavelski all night but was 1 for 1 in the offensive zone. Jonas Hiller saw a barrage of rubber (41 shots with only 1 in overtime) that was more characteristic of Anaheim's earlier efforts than their recent wins. And this is the Ducks' fourth win in a row with a game back home against the Islanders tomorrow.
