ARTHUR:

Live hockey?  *rubs eyes*  That's the word so far.  USA Finland on NBC while I eat lunch, Canada/Russia while I eat dinner.  The grace of the hockey gods is sweet.  Happy gameday.

Langenbrunner was having communication problems early. Malone’s line to the rescue. Good game so far

I haven’t even finished eating and it’s already a rout

by Arthur from Anaheim Calling on Feb 26, 2010 12:21 PM PST via mobile reply actions

I should have stayed up there for this game. Damn it.

Question Arthur

So with the games “winding down” so to speak, do you think we will see any trades between sun. and wed. with our ducks and if so who do you think is on the way out and on the way in.

by Newport Rebel on Feb 26, 2010 12:22 PM PST reply actions

Natesaduck asked me this recently. It’s strange that we’ve called up sexton, but we don’t really need bodie AND parros. Ultimately, I can’t speculate on Murray yet. He buys low on fringe guys. I don’t know if he can pull off a sexy move. In any big move, I’d expect to see us move too much: prospect, pick and a key player. At that point, we should’ve just overpaid for barker

by Arthur from Anaheim Calling on Feb 26, 2010 12:28 PM PST via mobile up reply actions

So who do we keep Parros or Bodie?

by Newport Rebel on Feb 26, 2010 12:36 PM PST up reply actions

In terms of skillset, bodie’s better, but parros is a fan favorite, so you kind of have to keep parros. Tough to move that Stache gear without him. Bodie’s not great, though, just better than parros; mccue in the cupboard might be better than both. But it really makes no sense to dress both.

by Arthur from Anaheim Calling on Feb 26, 2010 12:49 PM PST via mobile up reply actions

Is neither a possible answer? Personally, I feel that they are both a waste of a roster spot. However, if I had to keep one it would be Bodie. Bodie just seems like it tries a bit more than Parros.

Kane was possessed for those two shifts

So, as a team USA fan,

do you want Canada again for the epic match-up, or are you rooting for the Slovaks and a presumably easier road to the gold?

GO SLOVAKIA!!

that would be a crazy upset

…but I doubt it will happen

by Kducker on Feb 26, 2010 2:27 PM PST via mobile up reply actions

yeah, i was shocked by the sweden upset. We’ve seen Canada get frustrated by goaltenders and Halak is playing really well. As long as Luongo doesn’t shut things down, Slovakia will have a chance. At this point, I’m really not sure which one would be tougher to face

by Arthur from Anaheim Calling on Feb 26, 2010 2:42 PM PST up reply actions

Go Canada. If Finland would have to face Canada, then Finland would definitely be locked out of getting a medal.

by yankeeken on Feb 26, 2010 4:09 PM PST up reply actions

If it's US and Canada in the Gold/Silver game

and Finland wins the Bronze game, then every Duck except Hiller (and Sbisa) gets a medal.

And then we take Whitney’s medal and give it to Hiller, making everyone happy.

by yankeeken on Feb 26, 2010 4:59 PM PST up reply actions

But the question is did you really care?

by Newport Rebel on Feb 26, 2010 6:26 PM PST up reply actions

i cared when it looked like they’d join the game in progress

by Arthur from Anaheim Calling on Feb 26, 2010 6:30 PM PST up reply actions

Ive tried to get into curling since it is part of the games but like figure skating I just couldn’t watch it.

by Newport Rebel on Feb 26, 2010 6:33 PM PST up reply actions

I enjoy the olympics but i really only watch one sport per season. Boxing in the summer and hockey in the winter.

by Arthur from Anaheim Calling on Feb 26, 2010 6:35 PM PST up reply actions

Well when I was up in Vancouver I tried to get into the olympic spirit and see a little bit of everything. I ended up mainly watching hockey but some of the short track was fun to watch (even though I had no idea of the rules).

by Newport Rebel on Feb 26, 2010 6:40 PM PST up reply actions

yeah, i think curling seems a bit more complicated than what I’m ready to try in term of a casual olympic winter sport.

by Arthur from Anaheim Calling on Feb 26, 2010 6:43 PM PST up reply actions

Canada has some great set ups

but the slovaks are doing a good job of containing the forwards.
