Ducks ship R2 to Atlanta

Ducks traded Evgeny Artyukhin to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for minor league defenseman, Nathan Oystrick, and a conditional pick.

The move doesn't seem to do much for the Ducks other than get rid of R2's $1 million contract.

According to the OC Register, this move was made to open up a roster spot for Big Sexy.
