***Ducks Trade Artyukhin To Atlanta***
THE TELETEYPE:
Anaheim announced today that it has traded Evgeny Artyukhin for Atlanta defenseman Nathan Oystrick. If Artyukhin re-signs with the Thrashers, the Ducks will also receive a 6th round pick in the 2011 draft. The club has specified that Oystrick, who is recovering from a broken jaw, will stay with his AHL club in Chicago and that the move will allow the club to carry another forward on its roster. That other forward is presumably Dan Sexton, whom the club sent to Bakersfield this afternoon with goaltender Timo Pielmeier.

I didn't mind Artyukhin.
I got tired of the unnecessary penalties and what seemed like unrealized potential. I figured he was headed back to the KHL next season anyway, so whatever. Cool that we got something for him.
What do we know about the Ostrich, other than the fact that he’s a Mike Brown/James Wisniewski sized D man?

He’s a bit bigger than Wisniewski, and I don’t know anything about what he’s been doing in Chicago, but he was a puck-moving D in the NCAA. Let’s say a smaller Kent Huskins.
