Open Gameday Recap Thread Islanders @ Ducks

ARTHUR:

It was a tough game, a special teams game at the Pond tonight.  And despite finding themselves frequently on the wrong side of the whistle (what else is new) and having a goaltender pulled for being on the wrong side of the puck, the Ducks found a way to come back with a two goal third and an overtime winner, which came just 14 seconds into the supplemental frame.  The hero tonight was Saku Koivu, but defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky came up big on what looked like another 'too little, too late' effort from the men in black.  Ducks win.

What a Finnish to tonights game. These are the Ducks I was hoping for. Glad to see that they have a never quit attitude tonight. They need to play like this for the rest of the season and with a few breaks (we are so due for one) maybe, just maybe we can get a playoff birth.

There’s no “Dunununununununuh Batman” option for people in between the two extremes.

I'm here! I know, I brighten the room. Everything's better.

I had an in-between, but I figured yes or no was the way to go. Is your in-between, “we’ll be fine, but we could’ve used him?” feel free to vote in teh comments.

We will miss him only because we have nobody else to step up, Eminger will get better as he plays a few games, he was rusty..Wiz has fire, and can fight, but he is not an elite defenseman, at least not yet…

that’s a vote for not easily replaced, right? Or do you feel, like brokenyard, I should have had a middle ground?

I know the No is pretty extreme, but I hope no one thinks the Yes answer is claiming he’s an elite defenseman. In my book, he’s not even an elite AHL defenseman.

Man what a fun game to attend

The place came absolutely unglued on the Vishnovsky tying goal. There was a rush of air when the pass landed on his stick as everyone held in their breath to see what would happen when he unleashed that bomb.

Just a fun fun game. I got a little pissed that the first PP unit insisted on only feeding Teemu the puck. I understand that we want to see 600, but we also need to win every game at this point. Once the second PP hit the ice, it was a totally different story.
