***Anaheim Recalls Mikkelson***

THE TELETYPE:

The OC Register is reporting that the Anaheim Ducks have recalled defenseman Brendan Mikkelson from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.  Mikkelson skated with the team this morning.  The Ducks were carrying six defensemen after the suspension of James Wisniewski, with recent free agent signee Jake Newton sitting as the only other available blueliner in the roster.

haha. He CAN be good. And we have to play him to trade him.

Our blue line..

Needs guys like him to built a formidable blue line in the next few years. Mikkelson can develop, I’ve been to Marlies games, he has LOTS of upside. It would be terrible to prematurely trade him.

oh, don’t get me wrong. I think Mikkelson has a GREAT toolkit, better than most of our current blueliners. He just can’t find the confidence to put it out there consistently at the NHL level. He went from having good and bad games to having good and bad shifts. Such that I began calling him Dr. Mikkel and Mr. Hyde. Dr. Mikkel is no doubt a Top 4 defenseman. Mr. Hyde deserved to be sent back to the AHL every single time we sent him there.
