You left out Daniel but then again he will be teaching the kids so the cartoon is correct. Spade that shit was funny. Great job. Not a bad artist either.

This is epic
and the resulting flame war between Arthur, Meg, and Rudy is even better. Its hillarious how upset they get about the Sharks smack and cup envy.
As a fan of a baseball team that has never won nothing, I can’t underrstand why they get so flustered. When people are like “The Padres suck!” my typical response is “Yeah, so?”. They seem to really hate that we run it on them. Its delicious to watch.
And to be fair, if someone wouldn’t fire back with a comment about the standings any time we thank the stars we’re not the Sharks, we’d probably stop using the diss.

Oh my dear Robby, you’re still a relatively new Ducks fan, so this response of “they’re kinda right” is expected ;)
While they are correct, we did finish out of the playoffs; however, we didn’t go into the season with a spine crushing weight of needing to actually do something in the playoffs.
I allow the Sharks fans to come back at me with the standings because until they with The Cup or do anything of major significance in the playoffs, they will still be a running joke to me.

I dont think theyre right at all
I guess I didn’t phrase my initial comment well. Arthur is absolutely right to throw it back in their faces and the fact that they get so apolplectic betrays their own sense of failure.
Don’t get me wrong. Sharks fans are crushed under the weight of their expectations. Ducks fans realize that their current situation is due in part to the moves we made to claim the cup. What’s hillarious is that the Sharks may have to encounter our down years without having anything to point to as justification.

You will learn. Hate of the Sharks does not grow overnight. It comes with many years of knowing the fans.

I don’t know if it’s a flame war. Meg and Rudy are roommates or friends or something, so Rudy’s just looking out for his buddy. Battle of Cali is definitely a place where things are allowed to get personal, but the day I care what Rudy Kelly or Megalodon think about me is the day I pack it up and call it a life.

Yeah "flame war"
is a little sensationalist of me but I really just wanted to get people over there to read it. It really is quite entertaining.
And I think its a cop-out to say the playoffs are a crap shoot, at least in hockey where every series is best of 7. Unlike baseball or football where one guy can steal a game (and thus significantly impact the series), I don’t think hockey is that kind of sport where one player can completely dominate a series. Yeah, goalies can get hot, but its rare for a goalie to play four stellar games in a row.

Actually hockey is generally considered to be more of a crapshoot than any of the series playoff sports. I don’t know if that’s based on a misplaced American reverence for Baseball or the lack of surprising upsets in NBA Basketball, but there’s definitely a consensus out there that you just don’t know what will happen in an NHL playoff series. And I take that as valid for any given year, maybe even consecutive years. But teams that win three consecutive division titles are usually Cup teams.
The ‘99 Stars, the ’02 and ’08 Red Wings, and the ’95 Devils all won Cups on the strength of division title streaks. The ’96 Red Wings and ’00 Devils won Cups immediately following streaks. The only teams not to turn streaks into success are the 07-10 Sharks and Caps. So, we’ll see, but for now, it would be an epic fail.

That surprises me
that its considered to be such a crap shoot. I just would not have thought that. The Flyers were probably a surprise to get as far as they did, but they were fairly inconsistent all year. No surprise that the Hawks won the cup.
Hockey just seems more of a team game to me (and thus less flukey) than other American sports. Maybe I’ve just got a bizarre concept of hockey in my mind.

well upsets happen frequently, and better teams lose series. You can argue about whether that defies the seven game series or proves its value. But as someone who’s watched NHL hockey since the early 90s, I have to say I’ve never seen a team this good denied like this. Maybe those 97-99 Devils were pretty bad, but they bounced right back the next year.
