Around SBN: Two Minutes Of Thunder Basketball Wins The Game

The Ducks Will Pick 29th

ARTHUR:

Patrick Kane scored a thrilling gamewinner in the first overtime of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight, securing the 29th overall pick for Anaheim and winning some sort of trophy for his team as well.

Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks, 2010 Stanley Cup Champions!

The Ducks' pick list for the Draft is now final, and you can find it at our 2010 NHL Entry Draft page.

I think it’s safe to say that’s the worst Stanley Cup winning goal of all time. Leighton sucks

There's nothing to see here. And nothing gazes back at me.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I sat there and said “what the f%*k was that?”

Damn you Leighton.

Uh, you guys do remember the goal that became the game-winner of Anaheim’s G5 cup win against Ottawa, right?

Thanks again, Chris Phillips. :)

But that one didn’t happen in OT to win the cup. Had it been, it would be up there with this one.

Oh, Moen’s later-awarded goal wasn’t immediately decisive, but it was definitely a worse goal.

And if we’re only counting OT cup winners, that’s a slim pool anyways.

A goal is a goal, I just would have preferred something more dramatic to win the game and Cup in OT. Maybe it’s just me. I feel kind of cheated. I also think trying to draw in a casual fan that is tuning into the game, a better goal would have been nice. Either way, it was a great series and I hope the NHL got some new fans from it. Overall these playoffs were spectacular. Can’t wait for next year.

The draft should be this weekend. Free agency next Wednesday. Training camp the following Friday. And the preseason should start on July 1 with the regular season starting a week and a half to two weeks later. One can dream…

I’m sure every Hawks fan disagrees. :)

Not sure I would say that a duck Stanley Cup winning goal would be the worse, but to each his own I suppose.

Kane’s was simply anti-climactic

Style-wise? At least Kane scored on the proper net.

Worst case scenario? Why not? Of course Philly would lose.

Yeah but the save that Niemi made from Carter’s shot was amazing. Wow.

Boynton gets to raise the cup. That bastard.

So what am I supposed to do now that hockey is done? Yes, there is the draft, but after that? Count down the days until Bobby gets an offer-sheet (not from the Ducks) that is worth more than Scrooge McDuck’s entire vault of money?

but anyway, have fun and be safe.

I’m going on a similar disconnected vacation early august…….still a ways away.

A max contract offer is worth four 1st Round picks, so that would actually be AWESOME. Whatever Bobby’s worth, I don’t know if it stands up to four 1st Round picks, especially from the cellar teams that would have the money to pay him.
