***Lupul Out Until At Least November***
THE TELETYPE:
OCR's Curtis Zupke confirmed today that Joffrey Lupul experienced a setback in his rehabilitation related to the return of the blood infection he had previously cleared following surgery on a herniated disc. According to the report, the best case scenario timetable would involve Lupul returning to physical activity in September and returning to action in November. That matches closely with what Zupke told Team 1260's Bob Stauffer last week according to a tweet by ALLDUCKS, which noted that Lupul was likely out until December.
The Ducks have made a few moves at forward this offseason, trading Mike Brown at the Draft, waiving Ryan Carter in July and acquiring Aaron Voros in the Steve Eminger trade. The team is also rumored to be interested in a few forwards, most notably Paul Kariya. However, it is unclear how Lupul's injury will affect the team's roster-building for the remainder of the offseason.

Sigh
This will hurt us cap-wise for sure.

Actually, with that timetable, the Ducks can use the Bona Fide Long Term Injury Exception in the CBA, 50.10(d) to exceed the Salary Cap by Lupul’s salary. Unfortunately, as a cash team, I don’t think their position in relation to the cap is as important as how much money is going out the door between now and November.

if lupul makes it to 17 goals, can we get a consolation prize, jen? Maybe a photo of you in a fancy dress?
I second this. There should be a consolation prize.

that’d require me to be in california. I’m up in colorado for school. good news is I just got my DU season tickets for hockey
Customize a Beau Bennet jersey. All the California players wear #9. And I’d like to take this opportunity to chant “sieve” at you before Adam Murray even takes the ice for the season.

I’m not actually asking for anything that bad, compared to the original agreement, a nice dress is more classy.
I was gonna say that “fancy dress” is really tame. Throw him a bone, sticks! Or just send along that picture from Vegas, the one where you’re doing the Bundy Bounce.
