Anaheim Clippings - 8/24/10
I know I used an Andy Elvstrand video last time, but the man is doing good work, as I note below in the Ducks Blogs section. Respect. Don't forget to check out his work on his YouTube Channel, Elfster1000 and his blog Andyheim.
Eric Stephens' followers have multiplied exponentially. You know why? The man's putting in work while a lot of other beat writers are on vacation. Get this man some more followers!! Sometimes, he even gives you the skinny before he puts it on OCR ;)
Just topped 800 followers and want to thank all of you. Modest total, yes, but a long way from the 30 or 40 that signed on months ago.
Rob Schremp is pretty funny, but you know who else is pretty funny? Ducks property Danny Syvret:
@RobSchremp talked to the rest of the guys on the ice. And we agree you were the worst. Should have been benched in a charity game. Wow...
Are you following Eric Tangradi on Twitter? The Ducks draft pick turned Penguins prospect plays a trivia game with his followers. He even gives away t-shirts. I haven't played yet, but it sounds like fun. Also, as his tweets are protected, the cap below is a copy/paste.
Thanks for playing everyone!...Help spread the word @EricTangradi...#TangradiTrivia
Ducks Blogs
Andyheim - Inception Montage
Andy Elvstrand opens up posting on his new domain (www.andyheim.com) by filling one of my requests (whaaaaaa?!). If you liked the Inception video, go over there and leave him some love in the comments. Also, just generally, check out his new digs. It's bright orange, now. I think it was more metallic over at Blogger.
Ducks Blog by Adam Brady - August 23rd
Adam Brady assures fans his Twitter will not replace the Ducks Blog.
Anaheim Ducks Towel Invasions - Beijing
The towels (which were probably made in China) are in China again. This stop, Beijing!

Wingham Advance-Times - Crowds Turn Out For Vu Pham Memorial Game
In the span of a week, Corey Perry played in two charity games in Ontario. This game raised money for fallen OPP officer, Vu Pham, and this past week, Perry skated in the London Knights' 4-on-4 charity game for the Special Olympics.
Irish Add Kevin Lind To Roster For 2010-11 Season
With the loss of Jarred Tinordi and Kyle Palmieri, Notre Dame announced it brought in forward T.J. Tynan and defenseman (and Ducks' sixth round pick) Kevin Lind one year ahead of schedule.
Fanouse - California Hockey Owes to O'Ree, Gretzky, Roller Blades
This is yet another story with comments from Eustace King, whose story I plugged last time-- I know, I know --but Adam Gretz gives a lot of chronology on California hockey before getting to King's comments.

eh, he was really good in juniors. He’s a great acquisition for the AHL team as he’s got about 300 American League games under his belt. The Ducks have promised him there’s an open spot to compete for at camp, so I think he’ll be trying to get in at 5-7. I think he’ll end up in the AHL for a lot of the year, but he could also end up doing what Brookbank did for us last year and just ride the scratch list. Obviously, best case scenario, he ends up on the bottom pair, but I wouldn’t expect that out of him unless a whole lot of players look bad in training camp. For now, I expect him to be our Tweet correspondent in Syracuse.

He's a Wiz sided D man.
I keep getting him confused with Sutton (who is 6’6"), but he looks like a slightly less talented, replacement Wiz for a lot less money and without the shot. $600k!

From the Ducks Team Report on the OC Register
• D Danny Syvret signed a one-year deal that will pay him $600,000 at the NHL level and $105,000 if he’s in the AHL. The former Edmonton Oilers third-round pick played in 21 games with Philadelphia last season before being sidelined because of a knee injury. Syvret, 25, has played in 49 NHL games with Edmonton and Philadelphia.

I wanted to put this Bobby tweet in the clippings
b_ryan9: Workout, skate and then John Mayer tonight!
with my response: “Lord, let that last thing be a concert.” But I didn’t want to pick on him on a day when he spoke to the media :)
