Ducks Get a Versus Game
NHL national TV schedule was released today, and missing the playoffs has actually led to an improvement in Anaheim's television coverage. The Ducks have no NBC games (like last year) but they did pick up a VERSUS game (unlike last year) against Boston on Monday December 20th . . . at 4:30 in the afternoon. Psyched? Your Tivo is.
The team releases their local TV schedule tomorrow.

andyheim.com usually posts a stream link if you don’t want to eat into your pizza budget.

I’d just get NHL center ice, if you’re a true hockey fan it’s totally worth the 30 bucks a month or however much it is this year.
yea but then you have to deal with lag and freezing and low quality definition, plus you can't watch 6 games at the same time on the same screen.
Two things. First, as a cheap and lazy veteran, none of those things swayed me. Second, I’m now worried you work for Center Ice :)

I think I am going that route this year.

30 bucks a month is a lot of money when your paying 34k a year in school. thank god for the 18k in grants i receive, I have no idea how i’d afford the 50k at denver otherwise, I’ll look into the streams
Hey thats college life. We have all been there.

yeah, that was a really roundabout way of calculating pizza money as far as I’m concerned. I remember when my loan money came in freshman year, I was eating at Cheese Board (a pizza spot in Berkeley so good they only make one kind of Pizza per day and the line is around the block) at the beginning of the semester, but by the end, I was eating at Fat Slice (where the pizza is made by melting recycled G.I. Joe’s onto ketchup and runny dough).
The descent in quality is as follows: Cheese Board>Blondie’s>West Coast Pizza>Frozen Safeway Pizza>Eating any of the aforementioned rotten or out of the garbage>Fat Slice

worst part is the federal loans I took out go straight to the school. good thing is they have a good meal plan.
Berkeley’s meal plan was aight. Except, when the dining hall was closed, it cost you two swipes to get their brown bag meal. Private schools shouldn’t have that nonsense, so you should be good. I ate in Stanford’s dining hall and it was like I’d died and gone to an edible version of Hometown Buffet.

You guys suck. When my dining halls close, and you don’t have any money, you don’t eat.
Rice is great when you're hungry and you want 2000 of something.
oh mine weren’t open 24 hours or anything. But there were designated times during off hours when they had a brown bag distribution room open and you could get a meal if you were willing to pay the swipes.

Stanford
I don’t care how edible the food was at Stanford was . . . I’d rather eat at Fat Slice than offer that place a compliment. I ate at the Golden Bear today and was perfectly happy with my food. Also, good to hear you are a Cal alum. Go Bears!
Now . . . back to Ducks hockey :)
ANGELS . . . DUCKS . . . GOLDEN BEARS

Pffft, I was up to no good when I was there, be sure, so I needed my strength and their food was what you’d expect of private school food. I don’t know if that’s a compliment.
And even at 18, Fat Slice was a little difficult to digest. Once I got a steady job sophomore year, it was Blondie’s or better. I’m San Francisco-born, and NOTHING about the Bay Area implies Nobility in eating bad food, regardless of regional preference. Chinatown dim sum is for tourists; give me Koi Palace any day. Fat Slice is for the residents of People’s Park; Cheese Board bitches. Roll on you Bears!

ive got game center live nd its great seein as im in college nd can watch games anywhere but no suprise we r not on nbc if ur not pens, caps, rangers, flyers, its almost impossible gettin on nbc. i liv in ny and it pisses me off tht guys like getzlaf and kopitar nvr get to show off their skills on national tv.
they’re actually using a flex schedule this year, but we’re not even on that. There are some non-Usual Suspects on that list, but I doubt they’ll turn down a Rangers game, even if they’re out of the race.

I was in Europe all last year for school and used this to watch all the games which aired at like 4-5am when I stayed up.

Here is a break down of points and then games on Versus. I guess the most games they can have of one team is 11 games. It makes sense that the big markets get a lot of games. I guess they don’t show any Canadian teams. We only get to see Vancouver once, but it makes sense since Versus is a US station. Surprised Tampa Bay gets 6 games. Eastern Conf gets 87 games and Western gets 69, which makes sense because East Coast bias in all sports.
