He’ll be on the second line nest year. Kid is too good for major junior. It could be Etem-cogs-DSP for our second line.

Kid is too good for major junior.

That’s what I think too. It’s a shame he couldn’t get his reps in the AHL this year (or at least until later this year). Etem- Cogs- DSP… Looks good for sure. If that’s the case, do you think players like Palmieri, Holland and Bonino become even redundant? I mean I am not sure we should hold on to all 5 anyways (Etem, DSP, Palm, Holland and Bonino). I have liked what I’ve seen alot from Etem and Holland those would be my untouchables, but I guess we’ll see…

Etem/DSP comparable to?

What current NHL Players?
From what I’ve seen of DSP I’d say Dustin Brown.
But I haven’t seen Etem.

What are your guys’ thoughts?

I’d say Dustin Brown has a similar set of skills to Devo. They both can play with physicality and both score. A guy like Shane Doan kinda comes to mind as well. From what I’ve seen of him last year in Juniors, Devo is quite the sniper and with more skilled players may be able to be the Brendan Morrow/ Johan Franzen type on a skilled line or if he is allowed to have more offense a player like Iginla comes to mind when thinking about Devo. There’s a lot to like about the kid…

Etem is harder to compare. He isn’t really like any other player that just jumps to mind. Maybe a player like Tony Amonte or his admitted “hero” growing up, Pavel Bure. Players with a lot of speed and can go to the net. I guess players like Patrick Marleau or Marcus Naslund are kinda comparable. Not really sure who he reminds me of…. And I don’t think we’ve seen the best from him yet either…

I haven’t really seen Etem scream down the wing and rip a slapper low far side yet so I’d hold of on that. He seems to have similar skills though, he can pass, shoot and skate.

Iv’e heard Etem’s comparable is Marian Gaborik

Etem reminds me of Teemu Selanne. Ok, he doesn’t skate as well, but there’s something about him that just screams goal scorer.
