Ducks Acquire Cumiskey from Colorado for Newton
The Ducks just announced they have acquired defenseman Kyle Cumiskey from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenseman Jake Newton and a seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
In 132 NHL games (all with Colorado), Cumiskey has 9 goals and 26 assists and is a career -8. Newton has never played in an NHL game and was signed as a free agent in 2010.
UPDATE: Here's a thread from Mile High Hockey when Cumiskey was waived earlier this week. Apparently Avs fans love him for this 1-on-4 goal. Seems like they think he has some potential that he hasn't capitalized on yet. He was hurt earlier this year.

Always felt Cumiskey had a load of potential. Good move for the Ducks seeing that Newton hasn’t worked out
I got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell
You’ve heard of him?! I emailed the guys at Mile High to see if they could tell me something about him.
