Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky Out Four Weeks

JEN:

The hits just keep coming! Despite a close victory over Vancouver on Friday, the Ducks lost defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky on the last shift of the game. Lubo deflected a shot with his right hand and broke a finger. The OC Register reported late night that Lubo was already dealing with a 'badly injured' finger on his left hand, which has significantly hampered his ability to use his devastating slap shot.

The good news with all of this is three fold: 1) It's early in the season - 16 games played out of 82 2) The broken finger will not require surgery and 3) He now has time to heal BOTH fingers. A fully healed Lubo is a scary offensive weapon (and an awesome post-game interview).

It's likely that Luca Sbisa or Kurtis Foster will be slipped in to Lubo's spot.  Personally, I'd like to see Beauch moved up top and Cam Fowler paired with Luca. For the power play, I would be surprised if Foster wasn't moved up to his point. When he was picked up in the Sutton trade, the word was that he has a nasty power play point shot. In the few games Foster has played, he has one goal - on the power play.

Looks like our win streak is about to end.

He's fancy. He'll go glove.

I totally agree re: Beauch with Lydman

They’d form a strong shutdown pair and we’d finally get to see Luca and Cam together. I would be surprised if this is what we get right off the bat, but i’llhols out hope.

Actually

I would like to see Fowler with Lydman and Beach paired with either Sbisa or Foster.

All I can say is that I’m glad that it’s not his shoulder. I’m not sure how I feel about both brookbank and foster in the lineup. Maybe we can address this hole with either a waiver pick up or a small trade.

Dont forget

We also have that guy from Colorado we traded for earlier. He could be moved up and play some time. I think he has a similar, puck moving game to lubos.

I was thinking about him, too

Cumiskey has five points in 12 games and is a +1. He has the second-most points of any D-men on the Crunch (Brian Rodney has the most).
