How deep does the hole go?

Pretty deep I would say considering our current predicament. Ducks Currently sit 5th in the Pacific Division with 16 points. That is good enough for 9 points behind first place San Jose who has 2 games in hand over us.

So here comes the really ugly math, if we assume that it will take 96 points to get into the playoffs this year, just like last year, which is a fair assumption considering the current standings and how teams are playing. That means we need 80 points to reach that mark, for simplicity, that's 40 wins out of our remaining 62 games....  Remember how we had an AMAZING second half last season? Well starting from Nov 2010 we played 70 games, of those 70 games we won 43 of them. of the 27 losses we only went to OT 3 times.  Last season we were 10-8-2 at this point, giving them a 37-22-3 over the final 62 games. Maybe I am being a big downer and pessimist but that is the reality of the hole this team has dug for itself this season. There is hope but it has to start now.
