Lubo snubbed in Norris nomination

Personally I think this was crap. Lidstrom and Weber fully deserved their nominations, but Chara was not that great this year, as much as Tim Thomas was simply brilliant. Slightly not surprised though. The article even mentions they picked Lubo over Chara, so while this is merely second fiddle to the elimination, this still stings. Hopefully they didn't leave Corey Perry off the ballot as well.

Yahoo Sports made at least a viable critique in pointing out that Lubo doesn’t play on the PK, but all of these nominees do. I’m not saying it’s a sufficient argument, but it’s a fair point.
he lead every D man in points and was a plus 18 that at least deserves a nomination. Mike Green didnt play defense 5 on 5 and at least got a nomination in the past. The standards for the awards change all the time based on who is considered for it. Personally the nominations and votes for the winner should be submitted the day before the playoffs. The playoffs are not supposed to count in the voting but the writers are human and may let that influence them.
He won’t get snubbed at getting nominated like Lubo, but I’m not holding my breath on him winning it. I highly doubt that will happen. But he has to get nominated. It’s only really only between him and D. Sedin.
Well with the Canucks getting out of the first round, that all but clinches it for Sedin. He will be fresh in voters minds come voting day.

Puck Daddy (who is a voter) on his radio show said the deadline was right before the finals. I forget the exact day but I do remember that it was just a day or two before the finals.
Yeah no kidding. Thats just what PD said and I could have heard it wrong but Id swear he said the turn in date was right before the finals.

Sucks that he won’t get the league wide and historical recognition, but in my mind, his campaign this season was probably the best I have witnessed from a Ducks’ defenseman in my 18 years of fan-dom. This from someone who cried for Carlyle to play him less as he was “no Scotty.” Humble pie never tasted so good.
