Ducks Pick

DANIEL:

After trading the 22nd pick to move down and pick up an extra second round pick, the Ducks finally chose Rickard Rakell. The boys at TSN called him a very strong 2-way forward, with good checking and faceoff skills. The Scouting Report reviews him as a great defensive forward with limited offensive upside. He was ranked 45th by The Scouting Report, and was the 30th North American Skater according to Central Scouting. TSN had him ranked as the 32 overall talent in the draft. Their report also highlights his defensive upside and they project him as a third line energy winger. Rakell could be the beginning piece of forming the "Shutdown Line" that Ducks fans remember from the 2007 Cup run.
