DIdsn’t see that coming…thought for sure we’d see Holland with the big club. Oh well, maybe next year.

The good thing is that he's in Syracuse now

It’s not like he’s not available if we need him.

Wasn’t he in Syracuse last year? I thought for sure he’d be a 2nd or 3rd line C this year. But I guess with this being Koivu’s last year of his contract it’s good to know Holland is in the pipeline.

He was with Guelph last year..

He played 2-3 games in Syracuse last year after his season in Guelph was done, he did very well in those games.

Looks like Gordon is going to stay. Kinda bummed about Palmieri.

With how Gordon has played, I’m not too surprised by Palmieri. Both Holland and Bonino is interesting though. I guess that means they like Cogs at C. Not sure what they’re going to do for 4th lince center though.

Macenauer has pretty much owned that spot this preseason. I like the ability to call up any of those guys and see them compete. But in all honesty its best for them to spend time in the AHL and get ready for next years call up.

I should have shoulder tendinitis with how much I’m patting myself on the back for these. Beating the Register and LA Times (AGAIN) with the info. Yay for getting up early for work!

I wish Anaheim’s AHL affiliate wasn’t located on the east coast, that’s gotta make it more difficult/strenuous on the players being shuttled back and forth

I think there is a strong possibility that Sexton will be claimed. Later dude.

A little surpised Sexton is being sent down to AHL.

by MoralesHomers on Sep 26, 2011 4:08 PM PDT up reply actions

I like these moves. It keeps Holland and Palmieri sharp for if Gordon or DSP or Beleskey falter. Getting 20 minutes a game in the AHL will ensure they are ready if we need them with the big club. I hope Sexton gets claimed; he just doesn’t fit into the Anaheim Ducks puzzle, and where he does he is redundant with the lower upside. Having space for an extra contract never hurt. Hopefully this gives DSP some more confidence, but I still really doubt he makes it past 9 games. He would burn a year off his contract, but he can be replaced by someone like Beleskey. I hope he proves me wrong tho and outshines everyone on that third line!

I’m a little surprised about Sexton. I thought the team would at least keep him as a scratch winger until they decided what to do with him.

It seems like they only have to cut a a few more. Foster on IR, a Goalie, and if Beleskey and Lydman start on the IR, that means only one Forward and one Defensemen will be cut.
