Why Not? Game Day Thread: Winter Classic
I don't particularly care about the two teams in this game, but seeing professional hockey played outside is always fun. The elements make the game that more interesting. It's those elements that make me believe that I'll never see a Winter Classic in California in my lifetime. If the news is correct, today is going to be around 80 degrees in So Cal. Not exactly prime hockey weather. Anyway, if you aren't at work today (or maybe you are...), feel free to comment on the game in the thread.
Oh, if you haven't heard yet, Ilya Bryzgalov is not starting and had some crazy words for the media as to why. This is year one of his nine (!!!) year deal. Awk-ward! Enjoy the game, kids! Stay warm cool!

They could do it in any weather.
If you imagine a salt shaker in your hand, tilt your head back
and act like you're shaking salt into your mouth; you will taste salt if you concentrate hard enough.
OH!
So that’s what good hockey games are supposed to look like….. i had all but forgotten…..
I have a soft spot for the Flyers
(I know). So the ending was kind of miserable. But overall, good game.

I've never really been able to get into the Winter Classic
And as long as every game features the same handful of Original Six and/or Eastern Conference teams, it will just be something I flip to when the bowl games I’m watching go to a commercial break. It’s pretty annoying listening to the announcers talk about the weather every two minutes, I feel like I’m surrounded by old men. New York’s jerseys were pretty badass, though.
Fight on!
EMAW!
