Wow. Shock me, shock me - a trade with Toronto. Bob Murray accquired left wing Luca Caputi from good buddy Brian Burke for Nicolas Deschamps. Join me in congratulating Deschamps on his eventual Rocket Richard Trophy because that's how things go when we trade with Toronto.

By the way, the Ducks are now first place in the "Guys Named Luca" contest.

More proof that Murray can only make the awakened someone puts right in front of his face. Why does he insist on shipping off little assets one by one, instead of packaging them for something better?

Caputi sounds like a Patrick Maroon clone – he even got demoted to the ECHL for a crappy attitude one year. Seems like Caputi is more NHL ready but Nic has more upside. Remind me why we are doing this again? Shouldn’t we want the player with the higher ceiling seeing as we suck?

I’m pretty sure Deschamps is a Burke pick. We’re basically returning him to the GM who drafted him and hopefully acquiring a piece that helps us. I don’t see how this helps us, but Murray has a plan…a good one… I almost typed that with a straight face.

Why don’t we just take Toronto’s entire roster and give them our entire roster, since that’s probably what’s going to happen anyway. haha.

But seriously: shouldn’t we MAKE a trade that actually matters? I’m getting annoyed at all these little deals that don’t do much. At least we are getting Blake and Smaby (who?!?!? exactly) back.
