The NHLPA executives and negotiating team have finished their conference call with the players. As expected, there is no immediate comment made from the union on what was discussed.

Darren Dreger of TSN is reporting that there will likely be a counter proposal in the next 24-48 hours. This doesn't kill the possibility of a deal getting done. Counters are expected. The good part is they're talking about the substantial issues.
This should be the last breaking news update for today. We know there has been a hell of a lot of information to process today. We're working on getting the best stories and commentary on the proposal of the day in to one place.
