Ducks Trade Macenauer to Jets for Holzapfel
This just in to the AC News Room:
Ducks 2007 draft pick, center Maxime Macenauer, has been traded to the Winnipeg Jets for center Riley Hozapfel. More details can be found here. In 29 games for the Ducks, Max had 4 points. He was pretty solid in the face-off circle, but apparently not solid enough.
Here's the new Duck! I have a feeling he's headed straight to Syracuse.
Bob Murray is starting a dangerous trend of doing a lot of business with Winnipeg...

I liked Mace and thought he had a chance to be the third line center of the future in a Carlyle system, but I guess he never fit in BBs plans
Going off of hockeysfuture again, sounds like there is a lot of similarity between the two. Hardly an impact move, let’s hope we got the better player

I don’t really understand this trade, but it seems like it might be a wash.
And speaking of weird trades: I can’t believe that Bryan Murray wanted to trade Corey Perry and a first round pick to Edmonton for Mike Comrie. Yikes.

Sad Day
I thought Max was going to be a part of the Ducks future, but then they acquired Pelley and I felt that this was inevitable. The sad thing is I thought Max was a better BB player and this guy seems more like a Carlyle. Either way sad to see Max leave and I hope he does well with the Jets.
Murray needs to decide once and for all if he’s a size queen, because this back and forth nonsense is messing with our assets.

Seems like this was done for Syracuse and not the Ducks, he’s a guy that has size and leadership qualities, things the Crunch need more of.
and it will allways be that response if it is just that.
macenauer received a good look from the ducks, we have plenty of centers coming up the next two season, and mace couldn’t even cut the team this season, when we desperately needed some help from our youngsters.
so chances are he won’t be a NHL player soon for the ducks.
SYR needs help, murray does the right thing in trying to keep our AHL franchise in the hunt. if that franchise is better, it will help our prospects a lot.
Ugh, I hate moves like this. It jusy seems so pointless, especially considering that Macenauer had a few flashes of brilliance in October. Oh well, welcome aboard Felafel!

Can someone whose good at the interweb make a fan post about Etems 51 in 50 video
http://www.tigershockey.com/video/index/id/916e5c99c984f8f43acceb0e3111183c.
Credit to Adams Ducks Blog for directing me to the tweet.

And then can someone good at prospects tell me how excited i should be. He looks amazing but the defense hes going against also looks atrocious or way more fairly i should say very very young.
You should be very excited. Etem plays in all 3 situations. I think he’s leading the WHL in shorthanded goals. The kid is dominating major junior. That’s something. I’ve watched him in camp and he has all the tools. He’s going to be a great NHL player. More important than his skill set, he has the mentality you want of a young player. He will walk through fire to play in the NHL. I’m going to buy an Etem Medicine Hat Jersey so I can be Arthur at a game one time. That fool wore a Halifax jersey when Jiggy was still here and all the Montreal fans thought he was from Canada, it was hilarious.
DSP – Holland – Etem new look 2nd line? Dang that could be hot!!!
I personally think one more year of Koivu – Selanne would be awesome, but it sure would cramp our Forwards line up with all these forwards coming in!
Some form of RPG on the top line a very good looking Cogs – Bonino- Beleskey third line = crowded. A good problem, but still crowded! We NEED Shea Weber!!!
Id rather swap DSP and Ryan for lines like this:
DSP-Getzlaf-Perry
Etem-Holland-Ryan
Cogs-Bonino-Beleskey
for the forth line I’d like us to go after Gaustad. Pelly hasn’t been bad but I think Gaustad has the ability to move up the line up and still produce, not to mention one of the top FO guys in the league.
LW-Gaustad-Parros.
There was also a rumor that maybe Boston would consider moving a big piece for Ryan, maybe Krejci, so a second line may look like this
Etem-Krejci-Palmieri.
Parros is gone.. Isnt he a FA? And I think Etem would need a compliment with speed on the wing.. Cogs? And have holland DSP on the 3rd? And who knows the swedes could possibly be ready Rakell and Friberg? Our forward corps would be deep.. Young but deep.. And yes give weber 8 per.. Hopefully lidstrom comes back for another year so Detroit won’t throw 9-10 at him

Zero chance of either Swede playing in the NHL next year (well maybe slightly more than zero for Rakell seeing as he’s in juniors and doing well, but still very unlikely), and I’d be pretty surprised if Parros doesn’t resign here. Even if his role is going down, he’s enough of a positive influence in the locker room and the community that he’ll come back. He has way more value to us than he will get anywhere else.
Fun Fact:
Did you guys know that Ryan Getzlaf and Riley Holzaphel were next door neighbors growing up in Regina, SK.
Riley has a tremendous amount of talent and I think this trade is great for the Anaheim organization in one way or another. I think with some hard work on Riley’s part he will make the NHL and become a good solid, contributing player.
Rodney
Anyone know anything about trading Rodney to the Boilers today?
