G, FREDERIK ANDERSEN, FROLUNDA

Justin's Take:

This is the pick the Ducks received in the Maxim Lapierre trade, and for the second straight year, the Ducks select a goaltender with an early second day pick. This time, the selection is towering Dane, standing in at 6'4, who has been playing in the Swedish Elite League for the past two years. He's five years (!) younger than this draft class - born in 1989 - and becomes the first Dane the Ducks have ever selected. This is also the second time he has been drafted, after being selected 100 spots later at 187 in 2007 by the Caroline Hurricanes.

From Eliteprospects:

A gigantic goaltender with terrific reach. Plays a modern style in net. Has a great winner's mentality.

From Corey Pronman of Hockey Prospectus:

Frederik Andersen to ANA. A HUGE goalie who destroyed the SEL this year. This is his 2nd time being drafted.

Heard one NHL exec call Frederik Andersen, the goalie ANA just selected, the best goalie not in [North America].
