I know that typically FanPosts cover Ducks news and/ or events, but I wanted to dedicate my first post to thanking Jen and the rest of the Anaheim Calling crew for running and maintaining this blog!

I grew up as a Ducks fan in the 90's (the good 'ol Kariya days) thanks to my mom, bless her heart. I have recently been getting back into hockey (when you're away at college hockey isn't your #1 priority lol), and I am so excited for next season.

As a "younger" fan (23) I still don't completely understand the in's-and-out's of NHL hockey. For instance, the way hockey prospects are farmed and kept in the "minor leagues" for what seems a much longer duration than athletes in other professional sports (thinking Mike Trout of the Angels, 21 and already a huge impact player).

BUT, I'm glad to have a place like this where I can come learn from veteran fans and talk Ducks hockey!
