Fancy a little Co in your WinKoCo?

Is Cogliano a money whore, eating up the ducks precious cap space like a pig hunting truffles? David Attenborough isnt here to take you a little closer (for those who dont know who that is, read a freaking book).

Cap geek left a nice little list of comparable player salaries and i cherry picked a couple stats from last year (not enough games this year obviously) to make cogs look good.... i mean important stuff like points, goals, shots and money.

the wash up from that is:

Cogs has the 10th highest salary of that group (understandable that he would be smack bang in the middle - were on the same page right?).

Of that group he is/has (and keep in mind i have still included Bertuzzi and Downie in the stats, and their numbers are slanted due to minimal games and scoring in those games):

The 5th youngest player on the list - he can improve and stay around for a while if wanted.

Has the 4th best GF ratio while hes on the ice averaged over a game.*

Has the 2nd best GA ratio while on the ice

4th best GF/GA differential of his peers.*

5th highest point total

6th cheapest in terms of dollars per point

equal 5th best CF% of the group*

So all in all i think Cogliano earns his keep when compared to his contemporaries (at least last year). For every reason we should keep him it offers up a reason to trade is upcoming UFA ass. I imagine if we arent in the playoff race come the deadline he goes, if we make the playoffs he resigns for a similar amount.

Cant promise he keeps up the pace he set last year, but hes off to a good start this year, and hes my favourite not-palmieri player, so i have faith :)
