Your Enemy: Five For Howling

Numbers for Nerds

Team Records: Ducks 5-1-0, Coyotes 4-2-1, Ducks 2013 Record vs Calgary 1-1-2 (Remember those insane back-to-back 5-4 shootout losses?!)

Team Leaders: Ducks – Jacob Silfverberg and Mathieu Perreault caught up to Corey Perry for the team lead in points with six by way of their assists on Teemu Selanne's game winner on Wednesday and Silfverberg still leads the team with four goals.

Coyotes – As I mentioned in the preview Radim Verbata and Martin Hanzal lead Phoenix with six points each and Verbata's four goals also leads the team, while Mike Ribeiro and Shane Doan surprisingly hang down at eighth and ninth respectively on both lists. Oliver Ekman-Larsson (23:53) and Zebynek Michalek (21:23) lead the 'Yotes in TOI/G. Important to note that the presence of Keith Yandle on that list appears to be due to the fact that he gets almost no PK time while those two lead the team in that category also. In fact, Yandle leads the team in ES TOI/G.

Goalies: Ducks – Viktor Fasth sustained a lower body injury (Athlete's foot?) yesterday in practice, which means Jonas Hiller and his sweet, sweet numbers (3-0-0 with a 1.30 GAA and .959 Sv%) get the start while Frederik Andersen and his even better (AHL) numbers will back up (2-0-0, .96 GAA and .971 Sv% in Norfolk!!).

Coyotes – Let's assume Mike Smith will start for Phoenix, because he does all the time. He's got a 3-2-1 record, 3.17 GAA and .905 Sv %. Tomas Greiss wears the baseball cap with a 1-0-0 record, 1.50 GAA and .956 Sv%.

Power Play: Ducks – 4.4 PP% (Here's some more on that from Puck Daddy, if you're a masochist), Nick Bonino STILL (!) has the only PP goal. Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf, Sami Vatanen and Cam Fowler are all averaging over four minutes of PP time per game. And now, the Ducks have given up the same number of shorties on the season as they've scored power play goals. Get it together boys!

Coyotes – 20.8 PP% (13th) Verbata, Ekman-Larssen, Ribeiro and Doan share the team lead with one PPG each.

Penalty Kill: Ducks – 72.2 PK% NOT LAST!!!!!! WE'RE NUMBER 26! WE'RE NUMBER 26! WE'RE NUMBER 26! (Not as catchy as number 1, but it's all we've got on special teams right now).

Coyotes – 78.1 PK% (21st), no shorthanded goals yet
