Rakell Back to OHL, Roloson Added As Goalie Consultant

After riding the pine for the last seven games, Ducks' 2011 first-round draft pick Rickard Rakell was re-assigned, back to his junior team, the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL

Per Bob McKenzie of TSN, Ducks prospect Rickard Rakell, 19, has been sent back to his junior team, the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL.

Rakell made the NHL roster out of training camp. Due to his entry level status, he could play in only five NHL games before he burned a year on his ELC. The forward appeared in four games as a Duck, racking up nothing but a minus-2 and 3 SOG's.

Bruce Boudreau left the decision to send him back up to Bob Murray. On the radio pregame versus St. Louis, Boudreau did comment how he felt Ricky Raccoon was benefiting from at least practicing with and against NHL'ers.

Prior to World Juniors (where he played for Sweden) and NHL training camp, he played in 32 games for Plymouth, scoring 13 G, 17 A and was a plus-10.

Announced before the game against Chicago, former NHL goaltender Dwayne Roloson has been added to the Ducks coaching staff as a 'goaltending consultant'. Pete Peters will remain in place as the Ducks goaltending coach. Roloson will work with the Admirals goalies.
