Stay connected for news and updates

Jonathan Daniel

My college hockey homerism is shining through right now.

Capsule updates about our most prominent college prospects.

Kevin Roy, Northeastern University, LW

Nic Kerdiles is the star of our class of NCAA prospects, but Roy is having an excellent season at Northeastern, where he was recently named the Beanpot MVP (an annual hockey tournament that involves all four Boston-area college hockey teams) after scoring a hat trick in Northeastern's upset of BU.

Andy Welinski, University of Minnesota-Duluth, D

Welinski's UMD Bulldogs lost to the Bemidji State Beavers 4-2, extending their losing streak to six games. Silver lining: Welinski scored one of the two goals.

Kevin Lind, University of Notre Dame, D

Lind and Notre Dame defeated the University of Miami RedHawks 2-1 on Sunday in the first game of the Hockey City Classic at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Nic Kerdiles, University of Wisconsin, C/LW

Kerdiles' No. 18 Badgers also played in the Hockey City Classic on Sunday, defeating the the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. Kerdiles was held off the score sheet, but scored a goal in a losing effort against the Gophers on Friday.
