I was down visiting a friend in West Co who's a King's fan. He found out there was an official watch party at a local Hooters. I was down to go. In truth, I didn't think there were that many Kings fans in West Co, Laker fans, sure, but Kings' fans? I was impressed with the turn out as it was all black and purple (no, not our third jersey with the Anaheim script from many years ago... I admit, I own an Ozolinsh jersey of that ilk!) The Hooters was packed of Kings fans of all uniforms. They held prizes in between play to raise money for charity and jello shots in purple! Even their mascot Bailey made it there!

I, of course, showed up in my Getzlaf jersey and stood out. Even had Bailey follow me to my seat and showed me the replica championship ring on the finger! Too bad I couldn't get a picture with Bailey nor the ice girl for kicks and giggles. It was sweeter to watch the Kings flail 3-0 against Nashville.

I've been a couple of official Duck watch parties, but I've never seen a place as packed just for a regular game as I saw the Kings' watch party. Very impressed with their turnout. Also, I envy those who got the replica ring. They're actually made out of metal. I don't ever recall something like that being done when we won our Championship. Heck, I wished we had our Championship run on Blu-ray as well. But I suppose that's the price we pay for earning our championship so early that we don't know how to enjoy it. Hopefully, we'll see more Championships in our future. And I want a replica ring for the Ducks!
