Trade deadlines kind of suck... This week in history, the Ducks traded away Teemu Selanne, and Sammy Pahlsson and acquired Jeff Friesen TWICE! At least we got rid of Ryan Whitney for Lubo Visnovsky.

Paul Kariya set Ducks rookie record with two power play goals in one game (4-4 tie with Detroit). His feat was matched in 2005 by Dustin Penner.

Acquired G Mike Torchia from the Washington Capitals in exchange for LW Todd Krygier.

Paul Kariya scored a goal eight seconds into a 2-2 tie with Colorado, for the fastest goal to start a game in Ducks History.

Mar. 7, 1999
Set franchise record seven game winning streak with a 3-1 win over Detroit. The streak started Feb. 20 with a 5-1 win in Vancouver and officially ended with a 4-4 tie against the Canucks on Mar. 10.

Acquired LW Jeff Friesen, G Steve Shields and future considerations from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for RW Teemu Selanne. BOOOOOOOOO!

Paul Kariya scored two goals in a 3-1 win over Chicago, to set the franchise record of three straight multi-goal games. On the streak Kariya had six total goals, one assist and four of the goals came in his first two post-Teemu games. The only way to grieve properly.

Acquired a third round draft pick in the 2002 Entry Draft from the Boston Bruins in exchange for RW Marty McInnis.
