I know with playoff hockey going on it is easy to forget that the hockey worlds are going on right now as well. USA is doing well enough but most important our prized prospect John Gibson is playing goal for the team. He put up a big game today only allowing 1 goal against Host Finland.
It is an interesting way to keep track of the better players for teams that didn't make the playoffs as well. Currently Paul Stastny has 9 points in 5 games I think. I think it's interesting how a player who a lot of fans think is over rated and over paid does seem to still posses some skill. Now obviously the competition isn't nearly as good as NHL but to be fair he matched Getzlafs production last year and is sticking with Kovalchuk this year. Just interesting.
Back to Gibson though, with him playing this well I think we're going to see a goalie moved this summer. Probably one of Bobkov or Anderson. I think Hiller has made a statement this post season and his job is safe. With Fasth signed for another 2 years I also don't see us moving him as he is a great backup and Anderson isn't tried yet. I like Anderson over Bobkov but Anderson would probably net a better return. Thoughts?
