GameThread: Wild @ Ducks

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

There's currently a massive point gap between first and eighth place in the Western Conference. The Ducks look to widen that margin by two more points when they take on Minnesota.

Numbers for Nerds: In the last ten days, every game that the Ducks have played have seen the winning team get outshot by a convincing margin. Granted, teams win games all the time getting outshot by 32-28 or something like that, but in these last few games against the Blues, Jets, and Kings, the losers have outshot their opposition by 15, 21 (screw you Pavelec), 10, and 15 shots, respectively. Obviously, it's more uncommon to see teams put way more pucks on net than another team and lose, especially for how often it's happened recently.

What game plan can we write up from this? Anaheim should put one shot on goal for every five Minnesota takes tonight, and sit on the lead that they will eventually get somehow. (please don't actually do that)
