Hockey-Reference Numbers For Nerds

Anaheim has won just three times in 15 meetings in Pittsburgh in franchise history, the last time being on February 15, 2012 when Teemu Selanne scored the game winner in the third period in a 2-1 win. It was the first time the Ducks played at the Consol Energy Center, and they've lost their last two trips since. Meetings between the teams in the Steel City tend to be on the higher scoring side, averaging 6.2 goals between the them. Anaheim has the largest margin of victory between the two teams, a 7-1 pasting on January 29, 2000 when Selanne (one goal, two assists) and Paul Kariya (two goals, one assist) each had three-point nights, Steve Rucchin had a goal and an assist, and 13 of the 18 skaters recorded a point as the Mighty Ducks chased Penguins goalie Jean-Sebastien Aubin just past the midway mark.
