The Kings are trying to pump the brakes on the three game losing streak that opened their seven game homestand, and the Ducks are trying to keep alive the longest current winning streak in the NHL. After starting the season as polar opposites, it seems Anaheim and Los Angeles have agreed to meet at a catchweight.
Selanne's jaw surgery is scheduled for today, but as of lunchtime, there is no word yet on the success of the operation or the timetable for his recovery. Post the details in the comments if I don't. His absence should set the lineup back to the days of his hand injury.
There's an official watch party tonight at 7:30 tonight at Mutt Lynch's (2300 Ocean View Front W, Newport Beach). I won't be going, but Floyd tells us there are power players, lip balm, foam pucks and alcohol at these things. I've schlepped to frat parties with less promise.
