DANIEL:
The Ducks refuse to fade away quietly from the playoff race. The Ducks came back from a three goal deficit in the third period, and stole two points when James Wisniewski ended the shootout in the 7th round. The victory pulled them within 3 points of Detroit who fell to the Kings today. Scott Niedermayer and Bobby Ryan were the goal scorers for the Ducks. But, Scotty was really the driving force behind the Ducks comeback. His ability to carry through the zone and break the trap allowed the Ducks to generate some key offensive chances.
Jonas Hiller, had a solid game turning aside 18 shots, but it was his work in the shootout that was most impressive. Hiller made 4 strait saves to give the Ducks multiple opportunities to take the two points. This road trip almost went from bad to worse as the Ducks struggled for the first two periods. But a strong third period effort was enough to get the win and head to Atlanta.
