ARTHUR:
Logan MacMillan, whom the Condors recently placed on IR, has been officially sent home by the Anaheim Ducks for "personal reasons" after he was arrested Monday morning for driving under the influence and driving without a license. There is no timetable for his return to the Ducks or its affiliates.
Anaheim did not have a 1st Round pick in 2007, but they traded Shane O'Brien and a 3rd Round pick for Tampa Bay's 1st Round selection, which they then converted into a pair of Minnesota picks. It was that Minnesota 1st Rounder that the Ducks used to pick Logan MacMillan. On draft day, many speculated that MacMillan's offense was little more than overflow from superstar linemate Jakub Voracek, and before MacMillan could even leave junior hockey, that assessment seemed confirmed; he played his final playoffs on a checking line.
MacMillan was unimpressive at camp this year, but the organization kept him with the big club to give him a feel for the NHL environment before eventually sending him to Bakersfield of the ECHL. He was given top line minutes with the Condors, but was held virtually scoreless for most of the season. His game seemed to turn a corner, but he cooled off again and a fit of back spasms landed him on the IR.
