Somewhere between the leaked third jersey story and questions on the Shane Doan suspension, which the Ducks are artfully dodging, I was reminded of the fact that these things have nothing to do with this road trip.
Sleek is threatening to follow up his Episode IV with an Episode V: Empire Strikes Back post for tomorrow's gameday. Is Darth Pronger going to reveal himself as Fowler's father? I'm legitimately stoked to find out.
Eric Stephens didn't go to practice yesterday, but he reported on a few things anyways. Amongst other things, Fowler don't need no stinking face protection. Frankly, there aren't a lot of storylines for tonight. The team needs to get it done and maybe try to roll four lines if they can get a lead (or if the opposing lead gets too big), because they'll have a tough back-to-back waiting for them more than 500 miles and less than 24 hours away. Win or lose, they can't linger on it too long.
I won't be watching the game until later tonight for reasons you can probably divine. As diverse as the baseball team loyalties are here at Anaheim Calling, two of us are still watching. Jen is suffering through her Yankees' effort, while I'm... who am I kidding, I'm a Giants fan, I'm still suffering.
