ARTHUR:
The Ducks gave up two quick strikes to the Blue Jackets in the 2nd and never recovered in what ended as a 3-1 Anaheim loss after an empty netter. Columbus opened scoring with a Derek MacKenzie partial breakaway off a blocked Sheldon Brookbank shot only a minute before Rick Nash would make the game 2-0. Teemu Selanne had the only goal for the Ducks, who struggled with the man advantage.
Danny Syvret played well filling in for Cam Fowler, as the rookie was a game-time decision with lingering stiffness in his neck after the hit he took from Coyotes captain Shane Doan. The day on the bench keeps the rookie's games-played number at six and ensures he won't be able to play his tenth until the Ducks return home to face the Devils. Anaheim moves on to face Philadelphia tomorrow.
