ARTHUR:
Saku Koivu scored Anaheim's first goal of the season and gave Cam Fowler the first assist of his NHL career, but the Ducks were felled by the Nashville Predators 4-1. Jonas Hiller saw 49 shots, and 21 in the 3rd period alone, in a game that seemed to be paced out of the Ducks' reach after some early back and forth and near-miss strikes on the crossbar.
On defense, Brookbank and Mikkelson played the majority of Anaheim's penalty kill time, while Visnovsky and Fowler logged the most even strength time in a group that comprises the entirety of the Ducks remaining healthy defenders after Andy Sutton left the season opener with a broken thumb. Festerling was called up but did not play. The Ducks will have tomorrow off before playing Monday morning in St. Louis.
