ARTHUR:
Two wins needing only three goals in each game. Two wins with less than 35 shots against in each game. Two wins withstanding a 3rd period barrage in each game. Two wins with roughly consistent line combinations.

That's not to say the Ducks are suddenly a good team because they've managed to carry the day two times in a row. But if they win tonight, that's a streak. That's three times in a row. Two consecutive wins, two skin of your teeth wins, are completely and mathematically separate from three consecutive wins (or so I continue to tell my cousin since he beat me by button-mashing with Zangief in 1992). Three consecutive wins says something.

I don't know if it says the Ducks are suddenly a good team. But I also don't know if you need to be 'a good team' to manufacture an interesting season in today's NHL. The Phoenix Coyotes were 4th in the West last year going 14-6 in the Shootout. A GED can get you into the playoffs. So, I couldn't really care less if the Ducks are only performing at a D+ average right now if it's good enough to win.
